Does it attract ?

Kathua, Unnao just forget about it and think.

Think harder, think how to protest, think how to debate, think how to have a spicy conversation about it with everyone and how to start a trend or a hashtag. Right?

 No.

Think how to do.

Half of our life just goes by thinking out, planning out things but not doing. Can we ever perform the duty of a citizen first and then look for publicizing opportunities.

Whenever we look onto a problem or a crisis we look for the causes as it assists us with solutions that we can do.

You know when you have been constantly kept away from something, it always attracts you more and more. In this case let’s for once think why did he have to go to such lengths to fulfill such a desire?

Is it because the country views physical relation as a taboo which in turn attracts the youth to be more inclined towards it? Or is it because a man wants to exercise his “superior authority” over the weak ones (hey there feminists! )?

But it surely isn’t that a person thinks about religion before doing the dreadful act but it is the animal inside him which has been aroused by the society through violence and the “so called” education about how to become a man in “every group”. We need psychological understanding in such cases as a human not any blame games between religions as humanity is the only factor that binds us with no conditions applied.

I am shattered being a youth that I don’t know the actual principles of different religions that formed their golden bases, because the base has been cemented on the name of repairing which actually seems to be “ease of using it”.

Going through the sequences of the events I could sense the strong dangerous want of the rapists which definitely outraged me to get on the street to channelize the anger and do something. But is it enough protesting for making strict laws?

It is indeed very important but what is important to notice here is that both the girls could have been saved if they had education may it be sex education or some help with physical education to stop it before it begins after which comes the role of saviors.

We talk as feminists for “equality”! But here we fail to protect ourselves because we keep quiet when any of our male friend is stalking a girl he likes against her wishes? Because we fail to influence the people around us for what is right? Because the culprits are always “others”!

We need to take a pause, a stand and do something. Influence people around, and talk openly about the “taboo” when needed as its normal. We need to make our self as individual strong on our principles in

every situation, not always and only in a “collective debate” .

Lets be the one who do, not the ones who see (spectators) and speak only.

DO, DON’T BE SPECTATORS AND DEBATORS ALWAYS as there is always an argument against every argument.

If the man has raped it is a crime but if we  don’t do something productive that is also a?? (You know)

And yes discussion just about communalism in every case is not going to be counted.:-p

Travel Experiences of Germany

Have you ever thought of encircling a country of dynamic religions, jolly lives, and uncovered celebrations and figured out democracy?
Must go to Germany if thought. This experience is through an Indian’s eyes…
As you step out of the airport you can feel the clean and cool air hit you like thousand volts…and then in the first look of Germany you get impressed and say ‘wow’ or’ that’s amazing’ or ‘did you look at that? That was superb’ etc… As you proceed you can see the Germany’s vibrant colors and personalities come up …there is a new trend in Germany to tie clothes of different colours on poles to make their cities vibrant with colours. Strange but productive.
There’s a thing Indians need to know that they will be getting lots of soda rather than water so no need to fill up your bag with bottles looking like water to be sure…
Next thing that it is a good place for every person may he or she be vegetarian or non-vegetarian. You get appropriate food full up of all vitamin and adequate fat needed except chicken nuggets and French fries. Which I liked but has lots of fats. It’s the favorite dish of German kids here…The first day in Germany is like being in another planet filled up with enthusiasm till the brim…
Germany’s literacy rate is very high as per India but still we can recall a fact that India is developing whereas Germany is developed and on the verge of being over-developed….I was really impressed by people’s friendly nature…they have developed as per the life goes on and their tradition says but we knowing our rich tradition still only look at some part of it which is not letting us move on but there are steps running towards the light….
The architecture mostly found here is Greek style buildings, tombs, palaces, churches etc. which is very beautiful and interesting to look upon because of it fine work …long time ago only famous scholars of Latin could read the bible in Germany but soon after Martin Luther encouraged people to go against it people started making drawing in the churches to make people understand the bible and at last bible was written in German…it shows their courageous and inquisitive nature..
But the climate in Germany is kind of unpredictable …in summers too some time you may have to wear a jacket which is not at all the scene here in India .So, you need to take clothes for both winters and summers in summers but only winters in winters…that looks a little tricky but is simple once you reach there…people with whom I was were way too good and caring …they told us about their country as they were representing their country and they were so gentle and considerate that it almost felt like home there… one problem that can be faced by Indians can be language problem. It’s recommended to have a translator in handy so as to be sure…
You will absolutely adore the style of clothes people wear in Germany…the trends flourish as quickly as they can… Germany isn’t cheap but we can say very exorbitant, it depends upon your ability to find a market suitable to your budget…bargaining is a thing you can absolutely not expect in Germany as it is taken impolite at most of the places…
Now ….you must be thinking about the lifestyle they live in Germany…it is almost similar to that of India… people work during day and at night the family spends quality time together… the relationships in the family are also not very complicated and casual dinners are frequently held which I enjoyed the most as I got to know about German families and traditions which were quite similar.. The German people are much more social than us and avoid phone usage during talks which is quite needed in India. But if you consider the culture, the history and the contributions of India to the world then it is at the top level and will remain there…

#wherehaveyoureyesbeen

I’m amazed today. As much as my heart wrenches for every child lost in war, I cannot unsee the political motives, terrorism and fear which fuelled it because only if that is taken in account can any resolve be reached. That is how world works, at least that is what I have seen, except when you let yourself get walked over each time.

I remember 7th October, 2023 and the weeks that followed, I had tears every time I went through the pictures that were coming out, of hostages and the people being killed by Hamas, including beheaded children and raped women. Mind you, Israel hardly released any torture videos of their civilians as respect, the ones that were out ,were posted by Hamas itself to show off what they have accomplished. That was the level of brutality the world turned a blind eye to.

Many Israelis I follow, were posting day in and day out to just prove that they were suffering in real but no one held their voice here on social media.Let me phrase it this way, “the silence was so loud”, yet again. Days and months that followed we saw Israel standing up from the suffering and world amnesia it faced, launching “Operation Iron Swords” to get back at the “Hamas terrorists” for release of hostages, more than 100 of which are still being held.

Local Palestinians were informed each time before the attack to clear areas, while there was no obligation, empathy was showered. Fake news was spread by the BBC about targeted attacks on locals while it turned out to be Hamas’s own blasts, well no one talked about that after this. While writing , I know I can be countered on every single line with “ but babies were burnt”, I want to ask ,what shell are we living in ,choosing what child we’ll support? I will never selectively blind myself to the suffering of any child but it was done by the world and I see it yet again.

In words of Golda Meir “ We can forgive Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.” Israel has chosen not to get walked over simply.

It is heartbreaking to witness a world so plastic, following trends and being manipulated into not seeing everything, black mirror is indeed a reality now. One cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present. My heart aches for “every” child killed and I will continue be objective and informed before I put any opinion out about an issue so sensitive. Please read.

Happy Independence Day to India, that is Bharat.

The process

Being a polity student, one thing each of us gains is gratitude for Bharat with every line and chapter that comes our way. Not only the outlines and actions of the freedom struggle but the feelings that fueled them have much more power of expression. Settling was a word that hardly materialized in those times as it does now. There existed no question of settling with a promise of anything less than a free man, most importantly a free society. The struggle for the same was much greater than an individual, I wonder if that feeling of living a larger life still exists even deep within us. But, during the freedom struggle, it existed in whole societies, communities, let alone an individual. Reading the studies available today on how complicated a human brain is, it fascinates me each independence day as to how were the brains functioning on the same wavelength back then, undivided India was huge yet headstrong. As much as I deeply respect the leaders who paved the way with the Brits for our independence, it was the common people, normal families whose support and will to struggle for a future, got us to 15 August 1947. No wonder complex issues regarding sensitive topics like communities and religions have always been ethically resolved with mutual negotiations in India, not by civil wars. Quoting Rakesh Sinha’s example, on November 17 1869, Varanasi saw a public debate on idol worship between Dayananda Saraswati and 300 pundits! Criticisms are valued only when discussed objectively and also when they are made intelligently as it has to be synonymous with responsibility. The common people dreamed of not only independent governance but it being integrated as a way of life. Feelings that fueled such power were beautifully bracketed with the morality of Bharatiya Jana, numerical strength was just an incidental result of it. It is this feeling that has my utmost respect in the freedom struggle and today also. Attaining the wavelength of living a larger life individually and as a society is my takeaway, this Independence Day.

Why is my right, always wrong ?

All I want to share are the raw thoughts and questions which came up in my mind after watching Kashmir Files.

Every time I wrote anything about Kashmiri Pandits, I would get replies and questions if I was also a relocated pandit. Why, I always wondered. Although I do have roots from Kashmir and am a pandit , why is it that only my community is expected to be writing about themselves , also for some second community’s suffering , some third community’s suffering? Why is there so little or no literary work on Kashmiri Pandits from people other than from my own community? Have you ever wondered on these notes ? I have absolutely no control on what others or celebrities think and speak but it really kills and pains me to not hear a word from them voluntarily . I see disbelief, hypocrisy and fear to raise a voice. It seems like nothing worth speaking about ever happened. Why?

Dadu (Shri Lok Nath Sharma) and I

There is one particular dialogue which says that the people who have suffered so greatly find it tough to express it to the generations ahead but we don’t even have anyone else to voice us, do we ? Hence, yes I am a pandit and I usually write my story myself, yes I gather sympathy for my elders who love their home, who suffered from years of PTSD, years of diseases because they had to live at places their body couldn’t adapt to, who died with a longing for their home. Most importantly, because it happened in the most real way possible.

Then I hear people asking for justice nowadays, and I grew up thinking what a great virtue this is, how important this word is that my professors of political sciences never complete the class without mentioning this word at least once. The newspaper columns are filled with stories of people asking for justice, in the process of getting it and the ones who have been fortunate enough to have experienced it. 32 years and we haven’t moved past the first step, that too with our own voice. That’s where the problem lies. This movie’s focus is not just sensationalising issues ,making you cry or for you to get back home emotional for a day but it looks for voices in fellow Indians to stand up. They are still looking for closure. Quoting Sidhi Raina, who’s bua Girija Tickoo was brutally raped for days and then cut by a mechanical saw alive because of her faith “Till date I’ve never heard anyone from my family speak about this incident. My father tells me every brother lived in such shame and anger that nothing had been done to receive justice for my Babli bua.” How to move on from such traumas ? Then I hear people saying, “ Don’t be too political, it’s passed now, fight for others.” Why can’t I fight for what’s right for others with my own fight too? Does that make my fight for justice wrong ?

So do we want revenge ? People around me in debates also say that because Kashmiri pandits maybe went through something, they want others also to suffer in Kashmir, it’s just out of revenge. Asking for justice through due procedures has been brought down to a single word revenge and the perpetrators left unblamed in the media trials. Calling out the ones responsible is called selective blaming. We say we live in the most free time with social media and free journalism to witness but I feel trapped in a room with huge walls and the gatekeeper just won’t listen or recognise my pain because it doesn’t match the agenda checklist.

For what it’s worth, my family shifted to Shimla way before this exodus and my generation doesn’t even know the language but still there is a connect because I share the identity which became the reason for the killings. The knowledge that our elders had, all got lost in the struggle to live and thrive, the books collected and stored from generations burnt down to ashes.Something so crystal clear and evident in history neglected from years.Isn’t that suffocating ?

In this fight for recognition and justice from the systems this movie took a step and these thoughts surfaced for me and they’re only reasonable to be considered and known. It’s a call for justice not revenge and will always be that way. This, in no way fuels hatred, the gore and brutality shown was the real hatred of the 90s. The movie only shouts for recognition, justice and inclusiveness in civilisation’s history. To promote humanity one must know humanity through time.

Old lady, do we know you at 75?

Our old lady turned 75 today and it’s beautiful to be celebrating something bigger than us, something every Indian resonates with for a change. When I read about our lady’s history, it tells a thousand different stories in a thousand different ways in a thousand different dialects. Something which fascinates and pains at the same time is the fact that the freedom struggle went on for 200 years, so easy to say but how many generations did we lose ? Two years of pandemic and it feels like a whole new generation has come up , for a fact 200 years of struggle has the power to recreate a whole new races, what race have we built or have been made into ?Do we keep the courage to know the roots ourselves or do we entangle ourselves in the thousand “isms” created by those  who caused those 200 years. That is why I believe the old  lady’s celebration should not go just in exaggerated glorification, which has its own importance but rather into analyzing the anti imperialist struggle and how those processes may take us forward or pull us back even today. Rakesh Sinha rightly outlines the importance of rigorous and consistent efforts to interpret and unravel the historical events as it strengthens the power to deliver a message to the posterity with that sidelining hegemonic writings making icons of a few actors.

History does not explain but it has to be explained and understanding the freedom struggle forms the basic paragon for post colonial India as well. British brilliantly always had their image painted whilte as milk not just physically but also mentally as the flag bearers who talk on the table for a better generation to come, free from abhorrent leadership exhibiting feigned sympathy for the colony. It nullified any feeling or picture of demonic intentions lying behind.

For a long time this gave them space to socialise with the elites and the progressives which I believe in turn led to us leading the freedom struggle in the way they had designed for us, for a great time. But, soon there was a counter influence of the masses against the ideologies of the mainstream leadership which did survive and played their role of nationalsit grassroots. For example, despite the approval of Mahatma Gandhi, the masses rejected his silence on the hanging of Bhagat Singh.Having said that, both Gandhian and revolutionaries had their own understandings of bringing about a common goal but as said history must unravel time after time.

As the revolutionary Frantz Fanon says that colonialism was not a thinking machine but the state of brute violence “When we revolt it’s not for a particular culture. We revolt simply because for many reasons, we can no longer breathe.” There are countless painful incidents which are not even found on the footnotes of the pages we turn on these days but they still stand to be interpreted.

On November 22, 1966, Atal Bihari Vajpayee expressed anguish over the imprisonment of Mohan Ranade, who fought against Portuguese colonial rule in India, and was awarded 25 years imprisonment after being arrested. He asked why the government at the time of Goa’s liberation sent back 3,500 Portuguese prisoners without demanding Ranade’s repatriation.”Gandhism was frequently and fervently quoted, but rarely practised.”, it seems.

Old lady’s quest for staying evergreen lies in our hands and the understanding starts from how she took birth. Could not be more happier to see children and adults feeling the celebration all around, I hope we can take this celebration even further for posterity by adding those innumerable incidents on the footnotes as a start. Happy Independence Day!

Right to celebrate? Always.

As I woke up and reached for the newspaper today, it being so special and editorials are treasure on such days.It indeed was filled by the name of Shri Ram but not all spoke praises which I had expected but the extreme agitation was out of bounds, those words felt like little needles and profanities to my happiness, respect and devotion. It felt as if being Hindu is the worst thing to happen to me and we are guilty of a cause which is so large. Why? Because how can we celebrate the bhoomi pujan for the land so sacred to us, if not that, a land which was proved to be sacred to us by the Supreme Court itself. Banal, nasty, brute majoritarianism, blood on hands etc are the words used in one of the article named “ Ram, I will not find you there.” by Pratap Bhanu Mehta.  Once I wrote that there is no sense of hate in me for any of the people from different backgrounds, instead I share a great camaraderie with them, there is still no reason for me to step back from the statement.

The ones who are on the other hand called bhakts, those represent the dissent have been taken as the faces of the whole community. I am a Bhakt too. There is no difference between me and them. The ways are different, the suffering has been different, the analysis must be different. Whenever a community is studied , a whole set of research goes in the background about why they behave , the way they behave. But, I don’t see anything more than a prejudiced thinking towards me belonging to the majority community in such brute articles.

The majority must always feel guilty, hence us showcasing our happiness or celebrating our faith is seen as nothing less than our great act of depriving other sections. It’s not always about you! It’s about an individual faith and individual devotion .In this context, Lokmanya Tilak’s description of Shivaji’s attack on Afzal Khan is educative. “Shivaji  killed Afzal Khan because he was impeding his path towards Swarajya. He did’nt kill him simply beacuse he was Muslim. Had that been the case , Shivaji wouldn’t have sent Afzal Khan’s Wife safely and honourably back to Vijapur after presenting her some ornaments. All have to work for the nation, disregarding caste or religion” . As when they are both respected there remains no question of dissent.

Multiculturalism survives not because it allows people of all religious and cultural shades to enjoy the fruits of freedom but because all people genuinely believe in diversity and cultural historical legacies beyond religious limitations. The western notion of secularism cannot resolve the challenges the Indian Civil Society faces.

So,trust and  let us be today, let the people of the country celebrate if they want to, the energy of devotion of all our elders and fellow citizens is much larger than this pity allegation of depreving sections, which is not even true for that matter.

Tibet- The dark reasons…

It includes deadly plots, which it shouldn’t have. It includes conspiracies, economic ambitions, which it shouldn’t include. It includes murders in masses, which should have been out of question! Because it is Tibet we’re talking about, it is Buddhism we’re referring to and it is the world’s forbidden city we’re calling out to. This all started getting buried in the past, centuries ago, but  an even more dreadful shape was taken by the suffering  in the 19th century by the great empire of ‘The Republic Of China’. It seemed the law of jungle still prevailed, the bigger fish goes on eating the smaller fish – no protest.

Taiwan, Tibet, Hong Kong etc., the list of the countries are long but well in the clutches of the Republic. To understand what causes the Chinese to be so anxious and ambitious to gain lands and grow, can only be understood through their mind-sets which are ruled by many historical state of affairs that came their way moulding them into who they are today. It also becomes important to understand this for the futures to come and to understand what to expect.

According to the New York Times report, the three points that the Chinese leaders give their people, which makes them strive for more than others, and to see the world through a narrow mind-set are, first, 100 years of humiliation by the western imperialists, second, 10 years of unrest under the Cultural Revolution, third, 25 years of economic miracle under reforms and openness introduced by Denzin Xiaoping. The first two creates isolation from the west and the world, whereas the third glorifies the self-made efforts for reforms rather than trusting the country with anyone else. ‘Fear of chaos has developed conservatism and nation’s individual shrewd ambitions.’

As researched by The College of Staten Island’s Modern China Studies Group, Chinese people are consumed by anxiety about more mundane issues. As one popular saying in China goes, “the reform on the state-owned enterprises is to keep you off work, the housing reform is to empty your pocket, the educational reform is to drive your parents crazy, and the medical health reform is to send you to the grave ahead of time.” This showcases how the Chinese community looks at the world beyond their borders.

Pragmatism, meritocracy, Confucianism, historical longevity, population, individual specialization etc. , all theses terms and many other lead to one another in Chinese social and political mind-sets. The base line being lots of competition. It is very well put up by an old Chinese citizen ‘You have to maximize your maximization so that you can keep your advantages and get more.’ Continuing which, they put through that ‘when you grow up with that kind of continual tug-of-war of your advantages vs. anybody else’s advantages, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the whole modus vivendi of that, it just carries over to any other part of life. And when a couple of million others have grown up in the same way, that attitude and outlook becomes self-reinforcing and self-propagating.’

The above paragraphs form perfect justifications to what Chinese have being doing with Tibet, Hong Kong, Macau and now Taiwan. We live in a world of cooperation, rights and identities which are and must be respected. Living in historical speculations and eras managed by a few leaders can only lead to one thing, that is, the end of the present and the future.

This is the way China did gain the body of Tibet but lost its soul, it gained the beautiful lands of Tibet but lost Buddhism, the highest attraction.

The reason behind is the materialistic beliefs, because that is where they compete. What do I want, what is most beneficial to my own conscious self, what do I want now, tomorrow, and 20 years from now. Strategically and practically, are the moves planned by the Chinese. They put a lot of emphasis on, what they call it ‘reality’. But one of the highest religion Buddhism emphasizes on long term questions like, “what after death, the meaning of existence.’ Something which cannot be proved by shrewd business strategies and experiments because the short term questions they are focused on, for examples is ‘What about my grandchild?’

No wonder the understanding of Buddhism was out of question for them, and appeared loss making to them. But, the Chinese were intelligent enough to get through their ultimate goal of ‘unification’ in steps starting from 1950s and ending with total takeover in 1959 by striking an ideological debate. Idea was to end Buddhist ideology through slow poison of uneducating and firing thamzing (Class struggle).

The starting incidents can make you laugh but also strike right on the problem of Chinese materialistic ideology! When in 1953 a group of 10 Chinese soldiers in Khaki arrived in Sakya, Tibet, they were shown disapproval by the local people clapping and cursing which was a common way of dogpa (negation of evil). The soldiers rather than understanding the insult, joined them in clapping, amazed by the welcome they had just received! It was a thing to wonder for them that insult and disapproval can also be so peaceful and nonviolent. The red materialism was far away from such phenomena.

Series of diplomatic steps were taken intelligently by the Chinese to gain sympathy and feeling for the Republic. Some of which included gaining the trust of Aristocrats and the upper class people after the Seventeen point agreement (1951) which gave  Tibet the freedom to be autonomous. The aristocrats were promised their power and status will prevail forever even after the reforms take place and it might as well increase. These people were taken for special tours to the industrialized regions of China for them to return impressed by the Red form of governance. The irony is that communism was built with great respect for labourers, daily wage workers, lower class common people but rather the communist state was using factors and people to fulfil its ambitions against which and whom, it had stood up for once: aristocracy. Flaws are ineveitable.

Seventeen point agreement in 1951: Tibetans were handed over a materialistic freedom by the Chinese giving them political and cultural freedom in an autonomous region. Unaware that Tibetan independence was always based more on their life and culture than the law and history.

Surprisingly the economic condition of the peasants and herdsmen of the non-communist state of Tibet was far better than the ROC. Maybe this became one of the reason why labourers were not focused on for ideological transformations as it seemed practically impossible to show a better system than the one prevalent in Tibet for them.

The next set of transformation lot(group) after the aristocrats started hanging Mao’s clay statues in their homes secretly, no need to mention how influenced they were, came the young minds, when in 1956 blue coloured uniformed personnel came to Tibet to open ‘Red Schools’ ,and to start youth organizations while politely asking Tibetans to merge traditional schools with these. Of course, the first to admit were the children of the aristocrats and ruling class of Tibet, going well with Pecking’s (Beijing till 1979) strategy of the ruling class being made to play an important role in bringing up a peaceful revolution .Almost all the local rulers unconsciously supported this backstabbing strategy, unaware of what they are yet to see.

The aristocrats were paid for their patriotism and cooperation, the labourers were paid to build the military road for the Chinese and not shockingly, children were paid to attend the red school monthly. All these incidents and practices are stark opposite to what the red book stands for .The silver dollars ‘da Yuan’ exchanged pockets in Tibet to build ‘silver dollar road’ from Beijing to Tibet.

The most intelligent among the people from Tibet were undoubtedly the peasants, labourers and the common man who were doubtful from the beginning and dismissed the new idea, though still working for the ‘da Yuan’. They did not give in their ideology.

History does repeat itself. The way labourers and common men fought against the aristocrats to develop a classless society, the warrior tribe of Tibet, Khampas in turn fought against the Chinese for their freedom. The shift is clear and the ideology of the red book appears more flawed than ever.

After this began the backstabbing by the Chinese, starting with the aristocrats and high class people which were the first one to be used .They were thrown to the jails after calling them on the pretext of attending an educational programme. But opposite to that the leaders were captured on the charge of treason. This totally disarmed the local people of their leaders for the Chinese to finally introduce the reforms of ‘unification’.

After this is what began the ‘the dark time’. Tibet was invaded, pillared, raped, and destroyed. It had no armies, no weapons, no tanks, but their monasteries were robbed, priceless historical and religious scriptures burned, monks tortured, and nuns raped before being horribly murdered. Tibetans were forced not to meditate, but to work in the fields. It was a common and painful site for the Tibetans to see llamas carrying wastes and excreta to manure the Chinese fields instead of the beautiful sites of them chanting ‘Om Mani Padme hum’ or silently meditating. This is an example of one of the greatest violation of human rights and freedom of a human.

Soon, the cities where divided into various teams under Chinese employed officials and it should not be shocking at this point, the criminals of Tibet were employed head of the groups. They were offered such positions to pay off old scores and no doubt, they then worked exactly the way told, with cruelty. At this point , the first point of Chinese competitive and anxious nature, with what we started, comes into play. To develop such competitive feelings, they were unable to use the three points of history for Tibetans but made different teams among the cities to compete with one another declaring and awarding the most patriotic and hardworking labour and humiliating the last. The creation of China’s artificial copy has been in process.

Tibetan Religion was called poison, their gods were referred to as “mud images” and the holy monks as blood suckers. After all such preaching, Tibetans were told they have freedom for religion! This showcases that Buddhism was slow poisoned, the process of which is still on. As the children got gradually educated, the ideology of atheism was attempted to seep deep down into them.

The life since then in the most peaceful lands of the world has narrowed down to only two things: Beijing’s re-education policy and hard labour. This continues in present with the least international support for the Forbidden City.

No doubt no country stood up strongly opposing this grave and open human rights violation happening  because there is a little of Gold, Uranium and other metals plentiful in those previously closed lands. With this I repeat – It seems the law of jungle still prevails, the bigger fish goes on eating the smaller fish – no protest.

This fight with Tibet started ideologically which witnessed huge number of ironies to communism. No other example I believe captures its imperfections best than the sacrifice of one peaceful nation. The baseline remains that materialism doesn’t succumb to any ideology and never will it in the future. What always rules and should is one’s freedom to choice and independence of lands, and this demands international unity above matter and money as both of them must complement peace and not separate the two.

The game of Jenga fallen, why?

When you feel you are just there but someone pulls you miles back. Like how the bonus works in games. Exactly same is the situation of India. We were just there fighting the circumstances for the first time together, with self-realisation among the citizens. No factor according to the country could pose a problem as life values above all as a rational and normal thinker. It was a perfect game of Jenga with all divisions and diversities fitted together until a piece ruined it all.

In a country like India which follows thousands of gods of different religions and people have immense faith in supreme power and some aren’t even afraid of the biggest fear : death : in order to surrender to the whole, the supreme power they believe in. But that’s an individual choice, AN INDIVIDUAL CHOICE. Freedom to follow any religion, any culture, any activity is  AN INDIVIDUAL CHOICE. No one can involve anyone in their individual endeavours, no one can violate other’s freedom to believe.

Sadly, immense sadly this is way far from the understanding of ‘tablighi jamaat ‘and I don’t even expect them to also after the present situation especially whose sole purpose is as simple as spreading religious uniformity. How to expect them to let the jenga game go on? How to expect them to respect an individual’s choice? Other people of the country I believe had much more important tasks, conferences, festivals etc. to indulge in but the citizens thought collectively and everyone surrendered to the nation’s need but religious marketing was so very important!

This does not stop here. After all this when the health workers and government comes to rescue for all the other citizens not to suffer, they face further protest, nurses and doctors face vulgar behaviour in isolation wards while they continue treating them. Debate on intolerance folks?

The words I use and the passive aggression I display is exactly how it felt this time. It’s a passive aggression and a long stored aggression and the pressure point was not the actual Tablighi Jamaat incident but the news of their vulgar behaviour in the hospitals for me. After that news everything that I was ignoring and moving on as a balanced citizen came up in the present and the urge to share it increased. This is the only medium, I can and I should use. Writing.

The first point, “People are not homogeneous, we’re not all the same, physically, psychologically and dispositionally. There’s a huge area of psychology that’s worked to define personality as a primary basis for individual differences.”. (Jim Weaver) Agreed, not all think the same way. Not all can think the same way. But, those who do not think the same way can express it when asked, they can try not to ignore it.

Many beliefs, for example, the old cultural practice under Hinduism  like Sati, widow remarriage, class system was questioned by many great scholars and attempts were made to reform them and they were well welcomed by the community after a system of checks and balances. Many other beliefs also saw many reforms with time like Martin Luther’s famous revolution in 1517 and Mu ‘tazalia rejecting wrong traditions in 9th and 11th century. No wonder headings like “Religious and social reforms in India “comes up in the very first few search results in Google. Being a land of multiculturalism, India provides maximum religious freedom for an Individual.” The western countries which defines multiculturalism as co-existence of different religions, but In India multiculturalism is co-existence of various ways of life.” (Rakesh Sinha).

So, as mentioned in the first quote by Jim weaver, the aggression is not on a whole community, but a part of it, on which a communal psychology and ideology has worked to define their personality. That is a great threat to Indian Multiculturalism and now to Indian lives also. This being so evident, it becomes very necessary for it to be condemned and a strict reform to be supported.

Secondly, use of various weak factors in the lives of commoners and believers and feeding them fundamentalism is the most prevalent way of communal Lords. The mind is the weakest and  the most open to influences when it’s disturbed or thriving. There is where, “the reluctant fundamentalist” hit! The reference to this movie which I find was very thoughtfully made ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ is very essential at this point, when Changez after being the victim to financial crisis and xenophobia returns homeland, Lahore. He is an easy target to be transformed and influenced with fundamentalist ideas. This chain of people coming in the web of a dangerous influencers like Tablighi Jamaat forms the most urgent and essential need of the hour and it needs to be broken through the same way, but it being a much wider nationalist influence ,‘indianizing’ their fundamentals.

It’s all a mind play. It’s all up there. What I say, the words are all playing up there.  The words are trying to find the old knowledge and beliefs stored up there for it to make sense to them. The fundamentals stored up there influence every word you have been reading. It’s that powerful. Being rational, is it that easy? It’s basically the fight of fundamentals and prejudices. The first way to solve any problem is to know the cause and source. What I perceive from the present crisis is that it is an intelligent problem, and it requires intelligent solutions through intelligent mediums as it is not the crowd which is the source, it is the driving force. After all, it’s all a mind play.

Whirlwind Around

This is not about CAA, NRC or JNU violence because it has not remained that now. It is more a discussion of being rightist, leftist or centrist. It is not about freedom to choose any of the three sides, it’s now about a person being judged on basis of which side they are on. It’s not about respecting every perspective, it’s about laughing at others point of view because we are so
aware from all the social media handles we follow, driven actually but, while being aware! Ironic!
I share the rightist point of view but this article is not about glorifying my views but rather the
hypocrisy being faced. How difficult is it to understand that someone can have a view against
you, against the media, against the trend, against your whole belief system? How difficult is it to
understand that someone who is against the trend also has a LIBERAL platform to share his/her
views? How difficult is it to not laugh and make a mockery of a different point of view, because
people! They also have the right to share same stage in an “elite” talk show or debate.
Not at all difficult if your belief system as you say is actually based on absolute “LIBERALISM”
going by any common English dictionary ,this word works similar on all the three sides. The
whole idea in the society has become so negative, just of opposition, just of revolution. It’s not
about having an alternative solutions to issues but just a negative view for all the decisions. I
believe all the views are needed for a society to move ahead, but are we also really heading
towards negative to positive? Do we really have any alternate solution in mind if the protests
actually work? Or is it just opposition, which we are capable of? These are very basic questions
for every citizen of our nation to ask themselves before taking any step.
Going on the same lines atheism has not been of any help to humankind. Its negativity in the
purest form. Just proclaiming that there is no God, and basing the whole philosophy on the
belief in no God and give life to prove that point, while it has no effect on humankind’s
evolution. Life also needs something positive to move forward.
I have faced backlashes from people I have been very close with, hitting me real hard. That
bought the face of the liberal hypocrisy in front of my eyes. In today’s society, which talks about
individual freedom to views, people don’t hesitate from judging a person as a part of a group in
no time and mocking them with the knowledge which only speaks of complaints and no
solutions!
But no hard feelings! I pledge to be “liberal” to all the views but if I oppose I am sure to have
solutions rather than just complaints. I prefer a talk rather having an argument.
By this I want to question the very ideology of public discourse, why the trend is supposed to be
labelled always as intellectual? And against the trend stupid? Both share an equal space, right
and equal amount of effort in research. That’s the only parameter, nothing else. Listen to everyone ,not only the ones who are music to your ears, also the genre which has had no place
on your playlist.
Listen to the views like you listen to your vibrant playlists!
